Tamil language in Ather Rizta Z dashboard on Pongal
Date: 12 Jan 2026
Ather
Energy announced the introduction of Tamil language on the dashboard of its
family scooter, Rizta Z. This update allows Rizta Z owners to switch their
dashboard interface to Tamil, making the experience more intuitive and familiar
for Tamil speaking riders. The update will be rolled out as an over-the-air
(OTA) update across the fleet in a phased manner, starting from February 2026.
As
more users turn to digital content in their native languages, it’s clear that
people increasingly prefer interacting with technology in the language they
think and speak in. To support this, Ather has been working towards offering
riders the flexibility to use their scooters in the language they are most
comfortable with. Last year, Ather announced a multi-language dashboard
interface for Rizta, which can support eight regional languages - Hindi,
Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, which would
make it accessible to a wider audience. The rollout began with Hindi, followed
by Kannada, and now Tamil, with the remaining languages to be introduced in the
coming months.
Ravneet
Singh Phokela, CBO, Ather Energy, said, “Tamil Nadu has been an important
market for Ather from the beginning, both in terms of our manufacturing
presence and our growing rider base. As Rizta continues to see strong adoption
and has recently crossed the 2 lakh sales milestone, it becomes important for
the product to feel familiar and easy to use for riders across regions.
Building local language support into the Rizta experience has been a deliberate
part of how we think about creating a seamless ownership experience. After the
Kannada dashboard rollout, bringing Tamil to the Rizta Z dashboard on the
occasion of Pongal felt like a natural next step.”
